Joel Grunnill MBE Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2008
Skegness man, Joel Grunnill is awarded the MBE in recognition of his voluntary work and service to the maritime service.
Mr Grunnill is chairman of the lifeboat management group at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Skegness.
An OBE and six MBEs have been given to people in Lincolnshire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

From skimming through the censuses of Skegness, it seems there were two buildings connected with the coast guard. The first is Lifeboat Cottage and the second is a terrace of five abodes, numbered 1-5, collectively called Coast Guard Cottages. They are situated off St Andrew’s Drive, north of Skegness.
