SKEGNESS THURSDAY FC, with players, committeemen and a number of friends and supporters, form a happy group after their annual dinner at the Links Hotel, Seacroft.

The Club’s President, Mr. Tom Gurnham, and Chairman, Mr. Horace Dexter, are seated on the second row, and the large moustache partially hides the face of Mr Jack Postlethwaite, one of the club’s oldest officers.  (Photo: Walfred Photographics, Ltd., Skegness).

BEACH volleyball stars from across the globe will take part in a special tournament in Skegness later this month as part of East Lindsey District Council’s annual Beach Sports festival.

Taking place on the resort’s north beach, the festival kicks off on Saturday, July 21, with an action packed family beach tag rugby tournament between 12noon and 5pm.  The event has been organised in conjunction with the Rugby Football Union.

East Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and the Environment, Councillor Adam Grist, said that an exciting weekend of sports is ahead: “Clearly East Lindsey is on the map for major national competitions and this is something which can only be good for the District,” he said.
