Lincs County Council Childrens Home Skegness

Children from Ellerslie, the Lincolnshire County Council’s children’s home in Franklin Avenue, Skegness, set off for a weeks holiday in Scarborough on a snowy Easter Sunday in 1977.
Skegness Lions Club, who funded the holiday break, laid on a mini bus which was driven by one of their members, Gordon Hawkins who helped finance the holiday.

To commemorate Skegness Centenary, Stiebel and Co Ltd have manufactured a limited edition in lace reproductions of the original Jolly Fisherman poster.
Five hundred are to be on sale, and they are expected to fetch at least £2 each. Ten were sold even before they were made for £5 each.
