A distinct compliment to Skegness is the name of  “The Skegness” given to a new cargo steamer which was launched from the Shipyard of Messrs. Workman, Clark and Co., Ltd of Belfast, last Thursday.

Death of Rowley Skegness Baths Proprietor

The death of Mr Henry Rowley occured in March 1924, at his residence in Scarbrough Avenue, Skegness.
Mr Rowley, who came to Skegness about [hidepost] 1879, was the owner of the Sea Water Baths in Scarbrough Avenue.
He was also the engineer at the Council’s Pumping Station.
Mr Rowley is buried in St Clement’s Churchyard.

Mr T G Gordon Williams of Albert Avenue, Seacroft, Skegness picked up a broadcast from Paris in 1924.

Accident to Skegness News Compositer

At the “News” works this morning Mr Robert Baker, who operates the type setting machine, in trying to save some typoe from falling, had his hand caught in the machine, severly cutting the back of his hand.
At the surgery Dr Sweeton had to insert four stitches.

The sudden death of an apparently healthy youngster, which had been “placed out” in a Skegness home formed the subject of an enquiry by the Spilsby Coroner at the Skegness Police Hostel in 1924.
The Coroner sat without a jury and the proceedings were not of long duration.
