Passing of the Whale Ship Eliza
Passing of the Ship “Eliza”
Messrs George Dunkley & Son, of Skegness, conducted the sale of the Ship “Eliza,” which for many years has been a familiar figure on the Pullover at Skegness.
Considerable interest was evinced in the sale, and a large crowd attended.
The bidding commenced at £5, made by Mr W. Dawson, and the property quickly advanced to U2, when bids came in slow. The Ship was eventually “knocked down” to Mr W. Parish, of Hogsthorpe, for £16. 10s.
