Toilets flushed with success in national awards!
PUBLIC toilets in East Lindsey have come up smelling of roses in the 2009 Loo of the Year Awards.
This year East Lindsey District Council scooped 18 Awards in total, with 11 toilets receiving a full five stars and 7 achieving four stars. The Attendants and Cleansing Team also scooped an award by coming third in a special category that recognised their hard work and dedication.
The national Awards Programme is run by the British Toilet Association and rates the quality of public toilets that are operated in both the public and private sectors
Portfolio Holder for Amenities, Councillor Brian Burnett, paid tribute to the work of the Attendants who make achieving these awards possible: “The Loo of the Year Awards are an acknowledgement of the quality facilities that we provide for residents and visitors to our area. The Council has worked hard to improve the quality of toilet provision over the last few years and that investment is reflected in these awards.”
