Gizmo the World-famous Parrot took a well-earned break from his busy shedule today when he and a few of his feathered friends visited Skegness.

A blue and gold Macaw, Gizmo, who lives at the Parrot Rescue Centre in Derby, has appeared on TV, featured in a cowboys and indians film and performed motor bike stunts.

He has met several famous people including the Queen and Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and is frequently provided with a limo to ferry him to and fro.

Gizmo is a member of the Royal Navy, the Red Arrows, Fire Brigade, Air Cadets and ROSPA. He is also an Hon Member of the Automobile Association.

The famous parrot also has his own official number plate, GIZ 1, on his own little car. His professionalism shone through as he posed perfectly for our photo shoot on the command of  “Camera!” by his owner, Candie Bradley.

Candie told us that Gizmo was enjoying his day out in Skegness and had had a go at bunjee-jumping on the Pier.

“Skegness is his favourite place for a day out”, Candie said.
