Seafront Redevelopment Bola's Parade Complex Site
Clearance work has now begun on the Skegness seafront site almost two years after it was destoyed by fire.

Victorian buildings, built pre 1879 and forming what was initally known as Frederica Terrace, later the Parade Complex, had to be demolished after they were gutted by the Skegness Fire in August 2007.
The northern part of the terrace, the former Lucky Strike, is owned by Brian Bell who’s rebuilding is nearing completion.
The former Parade Complex site is owned by the Bola Brothers of Skegness who purchased it from Isabel Belton in March 2007. After purchase, the Bolas refurbished and re-opened as Henry’s Wine Bar, Busters Fun Club and Desires Lap Dancing Club.
Plans for redevelopement were submitted but never came to fruition and consequently the Bolas’ site has lain derelict for almost two years.
On Wednesday last, civil engineers moved in to begin removing the fire-damaged, 130-year-old girders. Each girder weighs around two ton, and we’re told by one of the engineers that they cannot be reused as the were so badly damaged by the fire. The engineer said that because of their weakness, the oxy-acetylene torch would “cut through them like butter”.
As we did with the Bells Leisure Site, we intend following progress of the development on video and in pictures, and we will keep updating this page with all the new developments.
