Jolly Fisherman Greets Robin Hood Train Video Photos
The Skegness Jolly Fisherman greeted Robin Hood at Skegness Train Station this morning, (Sunday 12th July), as the first train from the long-awaited Robin Hood Line Service drew into Skegness.

The train passed through Hucknall and Newstead as it headed for the east-coast beach resort of Skegness.
The route was due to start weeks ago. But it was hit by delays caused by a pay dispute between drivers and Robin Hood-Line operators, East Midlands Trains.
One of the first passengers was legendary outlaw Robin Hood who was on board to join in a special ceremony in Skegness.
Leaving Mansfield Woodhouse at 8.37 am, the train stopped at Newstead at 8.53 am and Hucknall at 8.58 am, before arriving at Skegness train station at 11.49 am.
The return journey leaves Skegness at 6.07 pm, arriving in Hucknall at 8.39 pm and Newstead five minutes later.
Travellers on this Sunday’s service received a complimentary soft drink, beach ball or bucket and spade.
An adult day-return ticket costs £19.80, while a day-return for a child costs £9.90.
