Unusual Pets on Skegness Beach
We all know that dogs are banned from Skegness Central Beach in the season, but have you ever seen a sign banning Chinchillas? Neither have we!
Just as well, because Charlie and Gizzmo the Pet Chinchillas became the latest Skegness attraction when they went for a stroll on the beach this afternoon.
Charlie explored the sand dunes south of Tower Esplanade, whilst Gizzmo preferred showing the crowd of spectators how fast he could scamper on the sands, just missing being trampled on by an oncoming herd of donkeys!
Charlie and Gizzmo’s owner, a Skegness man, told us that this was their first trip to the beach. “Chinchillas love bathing in the sand”, he said, “so I know they are going to feel at home”.
Both Chinchillas are two months old.
