LA Cafe Pub Skegness Closed by Police

Police closed down the LA Cafe in Skegness for 24 hours after objects were thrown at police officers during the bank holiday weekend.

The decision to close the venue was made by police after two separate objects were thrown at officers on Saturday evening.

Inspector Terry Ball said, “I can confirm that there were two incidents at the LA Cafe in Skegness where a chair was thrown and a bottle thrown direct at my officers, both of which could have caused serious harm.”

“This type of loutish behaviour is not acceptable and robust action was required to deal with it. As a result, the right decision was made to close the venue for a 24-hour period. The public and my officers should not be subject to any risk of harm at any time,” he said.

He added: “We are more than happy to work with any licensee to ensure the safety of people enjoying a night out in Skegness, but we will take positive action against any incident that puts people in danger. In respect of LA Cafe, we are working with the licensee to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
