Go, Go Beach Rangers!

BEACH Rangers will be entertaining families in Skegness and Mablethorpe this summer as part of a pioneering project by East Lindsey District Council to keep visitors coming back for years to come.

10 Beach Rangers are being employed for six weeks to work on the central beaches in both resorts from mid-July when the main influx of holidaymakers and day-trippers is expected.

The Beach Rangers will organise games and activities, including scavenger hunts, cricket, volleyball, rugby, football, tag and rounders, to ensure everyone has an action packed trip, which makes them come back time and time again.

“Skegness and Mablethorpe are expecting to see increased visitor numbers this year and we need to make sure they have an unforgettable experience that makes the Lincolnshire Coast their number one choice holiday destination in the future,” explained the District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Councillor Adam Grist.  “We need to be innovative if we are going to stand out from the other seaside resorts around the country and try new things.  This in turn will bring in more visitors to support our local businesses.”

The project will cost £25,000 and is being funded through a Government grant.
