East Lindsey District Council on Facebook and Twitter
ELDC joins social networking community

EAST Lindsey District Council has launched its own Facebook and Twitter accounts, as Councils across the country embrace social media in a bid to keep the community better informed.
95 Councils nationwide have already signed up to the blogging site, Twitter, after recognising the potential for developing closer relationships with residents.
“With the rise in popularity of social networking sites it make sense for the Council to start Tweeting online. We are looking for innovative ways to engage with the community in a less formal environment and this is an ideal solution because we can post messages and attract feedback from our customers,” said the Council’s New Media Access Officer, Chris Schubert. “Both accounts have now been live for three weeks and we’ve had some very positive feedback already.”
To keep up to date with Council’s activities via Twitter (www.twitter.com) follow ‘JamesGilbert1’ or Facebook (www.facebook.co.uk) where you can add ‘East Lindsey District Council’ as a network. By signing up to Facebook you will automatically be sent all the Council’s latest news. Both sites can also be accessed directly from the homepage of the Council’s website at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk
