Skegness Rat Week
Are you going to destroy those rats?
Commencing on December 29th, the Council announce they are holding a rat week in Skegness, and the co-operation of every inhabitant is requested.
It is probably advisable to bring to the notice of every occupier of premises that they are compelled by a recent Act of Parliament to destroy the rats upon their premises, and failing to do so makes them liable to a fine of £20 in addition to the cost of the rat catcher.
The Council are now empowered to enter upon occupiers premises where rats are numerous and charge the cost for catching to the occupier. It is not the wish of the Councillors to take drastic steps if people will help keep down the rat pest, but it is not advisable to neglect your duty towards your neighbour.
The rat week instituted by the Council is to give everyone a chance to join in with the “great clearance week.”
For further information occupiers should interview the Surveyor at once.
Do not allow rats to continue to eat and destroy valuable foodstuffs and property.
