Corpse Seen in Creek

LOCAL MAN’S DISCOVERY
The body of an unidentified man was seen by Mr. Alvin Blanchard, a plumber, of 93, Drummond Road, Skegness, in ” Cardinal’s Creek,” Gibraltar Point, on Saturday afternoon, which he found impossible to recover.
Blanchard discovered the body lying on a mud “shelf” at the side of the creek, where the high tide had apparently left it, and he reported it to the Police immediately. On Sunday, when the tide again receded, a police search was carried out over a large area, without success.
The body, it was estimated, had been three weeks in the water, and had probably been washed further up the creek, and it is understood that while the wind is landward, the body is not likely to drift out to sea. Meanwhile, the police are awaiting further possible reports.
Mr. Alvis Blanchard discovered the body of an airman at Gibraltar Point during the war.
