Prize Winning Pig

An animal fed by Mr. Bert Parrott, of the Lion Hotel, Skegness,  scored heavily at Mr. Geo. F. Ball’s Christmas Fat Stock Show on Thursday last.
The pig, which is a Middle White and  scales about 32 stones, was placed first in the open class for the best fat pig of any White Breed, over 18st. live weight. It secured for its owner a cash prize of X1 10s., a special prize, and the championship prize in its particular category.
Mr. Parrott was an outstanding winner in the pig classes, as, including the awards mentioned, he secured two first prizes, two second prizes, two silver cups, and three silver-plated tankards, all in open competition.
Mr. Chris. Fletcher, Drummond-road, Skegness, was another outstanding winner, his entries securing him two first awards, three silver cups, a  silver-plated tankard and a clock. His entries were confined to the classes for cottagers and members of the Skegness Pig Club.
Mr. G. W. Hodgson, of the Roman-bank Dairy, annexed one first and one second prize, a silver cup ana a silver tankard, and he was also placed reserve in an open class.
