Interviewer, Paul Gooch asked Mr Gamble whether the Mini, launched in the 1960s was still popular. Mr Gamble assured us theft it was definitely popular. He said the the Skegness Mini Owners Club began in December 2005 and already the club was boasting forty members, six or seven of which are still of school age. “The Mini is making a come-back”, he added.

Charity Big Push

The Skegness Mini Owners Club were outside the Hildred Shopping Centre in Skegness yesterday (30th August) to let people know about ‘THE BIG PUSH’.
David Gamble (extreme left in both photos) from the Mini Owners Club tells us “The Big Mini Push, is an 18 mile push starting from the Highwayman in Skegness at 8am going via the town centre, Butlins, Fantasy Island, the Vine Hotel in Chapel and then back to the Highwayman hopefully for a celebratory drink!”


David’s brother, Paul Gamble (extreme right in both photos) is the founder member of the Skegness Mini Club.

The event took place on Sunday 3rd September 2006 and raised over £2000 for St. Andrews children’s hospice in Grimsby, supporting their awareness month in the Skegness area, and the Macmillan Cancer Relief.

August 2007
The Skegness Mini Owners Club did their annual Big Push for charity in August 2007.
Members of the club pushed a mini car from Skegness to Chapel and back to raise money for the St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice.
