A SKEGNESS ZOO
Messrs. Lewis, Son and Fisher have for this season enlarged their exhibition of wild animals on the North Parade, forming the nucleus of what may in time become the Skegness Zoological Gardens. Their scheme is to exhibit specimens of the rarer animals which are not to be seen in the usual wild beast shows and they have secured a magnificent specimen of Hamadras Sacred Baboon, which, with its magnificent mane, presents a remarkable picture. There is also a Coatimundi which is so very tame that it can be taken by the attendants in their arms as one would pick Tap a kitten, and can be fed from the hand. Other specimens include an. Australian Phalanges or Dwarf Kangaroo, Agoutis or Giant Rats, Prairie Dogs, Calatrix Monkeys, Blue Mangaly Monkeys, Canadian Striped. Gophers, Black Squirrels, Egyptian Gerbilles or Desert Mice, a fine specimen of an Argentine Giant Lizard, Green, Lizards, Asculpion Snakes, South .American Macaws—very reminiscent of the noted drawing on the tins of Sharps’ Kreemy Toffee, Australian Cocatoos and Java Rice Birds.
