Jolly Fisherman comes to life!
The Jolly Fisherman came to life in the sorting office of Skegness Head Post Office on Monday morning when the Foreshore Director, William G Bosworth, donned the Fisherman’s traditional clothes for the launching by Council chairman, Tom Senior, of the Jolly Fisherman postal impression. All letters, and eventually postcards, leaving Skegness during the next year will be stamped with the impression and a letter to Coun Senior (inset), was the first to go through the machine.
Also on the picture is Skegness Head Postmaster, Mr E G Russell.

Have YOU got an old letter or postcard with the Jolly Fisherman postal impression or slogan ‘Skegness is SO bracing’?
