Grunnill Family History Skegness
The Grunnill family is long established in Skegness. Some of its members have been prominent in coast guard and seafaring activities.
The 1841 census of Skegness records only one Grunnill. He was Thomas, born in 1816 and he was a fisherman. Thomas was living at Marine Villa in Skegness, with Mary Grunnill and Henry Moody.

Susannah Sophia Grunnill married the uncle of Florian’s father, Henry Watson Hartwell. She was the third daughter of
Joseph Grunnill and Harriet nee Jackson. Susannah had one child, Olive who married Frank Crawford, a successful baker in Skegness. They had no children and Olive died in 1970.
