Camels in Skegness
News story review:
An excellent article documenting the arrival of camels, a new attraction for Skegness, and where in the town they were stationed. It also mentions two famous people who have visited Skegness, Alvin Stardust and Marilyn Webb:
The Skegness camels who give rides each day throughout the summer months, have just arrived from their winter quarters at Longleat in Wiltshire.
Their first official engagement was to meet international singing star, Alvin Stardust and Yorkshire Television’s favourite presenter, Marilyn Webb, together with the Jolly Fisherman.
Jolly, Marilyn and Alvin were spending a day at Butlins Holiday Camp in Skegness, following Alvin’s appearance at the Embassy Centre the previous evening.
The camels can be seen each day on Lagoon Walk at the end of Tower Esplanade in Skegness and looking forward to welcoming their many friends back.
