Boy Falls from Skegness Excursion Train

On Tuesday a little boy named David who lived with his parents in Leicester, fell from an excursion train to Skegness, between Swinshead and Heckington stations.
The train passed Sleaford about 8 o’clock and did not stop again until Boston was reached.
The boy was accompanied by an elder brother aged eighteen and there were other people in the compartment.
The little fellow was leaning against the door which suddenly flew open.
In falling, the boy hung on to the carriage a short time before he fell.
The train coming from Boston to Sleaford was stopped and the boy, whose head was almost smashed, was brought into Sleaford where an inquest has since been held, and a verdict of accidental death returned.

The injuries were so serious to the head that the boy probably died instantaneously.
