SKEGNESS WIFE VISITS BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Mrs. Eileen Mills, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. McTier, of Talbot Road, Skegness, recently visited Buckingham Palace to witness the decoration of her husband, F/Sgt. Ernest William Mills, at the hands of H.M. the King.
F/Sgt. Mills, it will be remembered, was awarded the D.F.M. in June last year when the Catalina Flying Boat, of whose crew he was a member, brought down four enemy aircraft on one trip.
At the time he received a letter from his Group Captain in which it was stated that His Majesty had been pleased to award him the Distinguished Flying Medal for determination, courage and effective gunnery while acting as crew in a Catalina. At the time F/Sgt. Mills was acting as wireless operator/air-gunner.
