A large company assembled at Mr. Geo. F. Ball’s Sale Rooms on Monday last, when that auctioneer offered for sale by public auction Callow Park Hotel, Grand Parade, Skegness.
The property was built over thirty years ago as a private residence for Mr. E. Handsley. It was later run as a Private Residential Hotel by Miss L. Lea, being taken
over four or five years ago by Mr. and Mrs. R. Ellis, who enlarged the bedroom accommodation by adding a wing, bringing up the bedrooms to 25. Last season a private club was also inaugurated, the membership reaching nearly 200.
Bidding opened at £4,000, and the Hotel was finally knocked down to Coun. T. Marshall, J.P., at £4,775.
