CAFE proprietor Arthur Jackson was pulled from Skegness boating lake last week after he collapsed while exercising his dog in the seafront gardens.
Two women saw Mr. Jackson, who owns the Lincoln Imp cafe in Lincoln Road, and helped to pull him out of the water.
He was able to walk back to his car and drive to his home in Lincoln Road, but was taken immediately to Skegness Hospital, where he received treatment for broken ribs, bruises and shock.
“It was very fortunate indeed that these two ladies were nearby when Arthur fell into the water,” said Mr. Jackson’s sister, Mrs. Harriet Mitchell.
He likes to exercise his dog in the gardens.
CAUGHT COLD
`The water was very cold and things could have been even more serious if he had been in the lake for very long. He managed to get home and sat outside in the car sounding the hooter until help came.
“We got him to hospital straight- away. But I’m afraid that he caught cold.
“A lot of customers have I been asking about him, and his dog, Teddy, is absolutely lost without him.”
A hospital spokesman said yesterday (Tuesday) that Mr. Jackson’s condition was “fairly comfortable.”
