Doglock Musket Civil War Re-enactment
The English Civil War era was re-enacted by the Living History group, Sealed Knot at Skegness Church Farm Heritage Museum recently.
The two-day event included an authentic battle and children’s toys, as well as displays of traditional crafts such as lace-making, woodwork, braiding and spinning wool.

Doglock Musket
In our video below, a Sealed Knot member demonstrates a 16th centuary Doglock musket being loaded with gunpowder and fired. It made a rather loud boom of firing which caused me to jump whilst filming. One can only wonder at the deafening noise produced by hundreds of these muskets being fired on the battle field!
Traditional English Crafts
Our second video shows members of the Sealed Knot Society dressed in authentic clothing demonstrating lace-making, needlework and spinning. Two young girls are playing with home-made toys which amused children in the Civil War period.
