Meccano Exhibition Skegness 2006

SkegX Skegness Meccano 25th Anniversary

Meccano fanatics held their 25th annual exhibition at the Embassy Centre Skegness this weekend.

Some 140 very impressive models were on display and may be seen actually working in the video:
Exhibitors came from as far afield as Canada, South Africa and Europe.

John Thorpe from Clowne in Derbyshire won (1st prize) the Issigonis Trophy for this meccano model of a Tornado aircraft.[hidepost]

A Meccano exhibitor from France

Monsieur Michel Breal de Laon en France, exhibited a working replica model of a dockyard crane in Calais. Interviewer, Paul Gooch asked Monsieur Breal how long it had taken him to make the crane. Monsieur Breal replied “deux mois” (two months).

Michel won 3rd prize for his Calais level luffer crane.

The video includes an interview, in French and English, with an exhibitor, Monsieur Michel Breal from Laon, France, who demonstrates a model of a crane at a dockyard in Calais.
