Donkeys need Suntan Lotion too!

Suntan Lotion for Beach Donkeys

We were chatting to Skegness donkey owner, Chris Epton on the beach this morning when Chris’ mobile phone rang “Ok, I’ll go and pick up the donkeys’ suntan lotion now. Bye!”, Chris told the caller.

Er, did we hear you correctly, Mr Epton? You’re off get some suncream - for the donkeys?

“Yes,” said Mr Epton. “It’s very important for donkeys with pale noses to wear a sunscreen whilst working on the beach. The black-nosed donkeys have plenty of pigment in the skin to help protect it against the sun, so they don’t need it as much. But the white-nosed ones can get really bad sunburn.”

Mr Epton trotted off, returning a few minutes later with a bottle of suntan lotion.

“What kind of suntan lotion do the donkeys use?” we asked. ” Ambre Solaire, Piz Bruin, Boots Soltan?”

“No, it’s a special one for animals,”Chris informed us. And with that he commenced lathering it on Dustie the Donkey’s white nose.

“There!” said Mr Epton, “all ready for another sunny day on Skegness Beach!”
