New Mayor for Skegness
Former Deputy Mayor, Coun Neil Pimperton was invested to the office of Mayor of Skegness 2008-2009 in the Council Chambers of Skegness Town Hall yesterday evening.
Our photo captures the moment when the outgoing Mayor, Coun Ken Milner invested the new Mayor with the Chain of Office.
A full report, lots more photos of the Investiture and the Mayoral Banquet coming soon.

The Mayor’s chosen charity this year is the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund, and money-raising events were held at the Mayor’s Banquet. A Jolly Fisherman poster bearing the seal of the Skegness Urban District Council went under the hammer. The poster, which was framed especially for the occasion by a local business, was donated by Coun John Byford. The starting bid was £150, but a bid for £375 was pipped at the post by Mr Andrew Kirk of Kirk’s Butchers, High Street, Skegness, who raised it up to £400. Our picture shows the proud winner, Mr Andrew Kirk, right, with the Mayor of Skegness, Coun Neil Pimperton, holding the unique Jolly Fisherman poster. (Photo by Paul Gooch). A raffle was also a great success.
