New Sky Pier Plans for Skegness Seafront
SKEGNESS TO HIT THE HEIGHTS WITH LAS VEGAS SEAFRONT DEVELOPMENT
A futuristic landmark multimillion-pound Las Vegas style destination sky-high entertainment and hospitality development bringing employment to the town is proposed for the Skegness seafront by the Bola brothers.
Concept plans have been drawn up for the iconic building towering eleven floors high to be constructed on the site of the Bola’s Parade Complex, which was destroyed by fire last August (2007) on Grand Parade in the resort.
The environmentally friendly structure the tallest in the region would provide in excess of 100,000 sq ft of floor space unlocking the potential to create an exciting venue for the 21st century in Skegness visually appealing on the skyline by day and bathed in low energy produced light by night the Sky Pier development will transform the waterfront. Creating a vibrant heart in the Town that will appeal to the local community and visitors with a mix of ice skating rink, ten-pin bowling alley, cinema, gymnasium, Children’s play zone nightclubs, restaurants, visitor/education attraction, cyber café bar and food court combined with the resorts first boutique style hotel occupying the uppermost floors with stunning panoramic sea views. Standards will be elevated in the resort with the latest state of the art technology, plasma television screens, Jacuzzis and wet rooms incorporated into each of the 75 bedrooms.
Mr Taj Bola, for the Bola Family said “We have been presented with a unique opportunity to deliver a bench mark development to take leisure and hospitality in a coastal resort to its next level. Our vision is to invest £15 million pounds and open a dynamic complex bringing the reality and wow factor of Las Vegas to Skegness providing excellence and a quality experience throughout the day and evening. To meet the demands of an ever-changing audience there is a need for facilities that are inspirational, distinctive and raise the bar. We are confident that our development concept will enhance the reputation of Skegness as one of Britain’s leading holiday destinations, boosting confidence in the Town leading to the resorts economic future growth”.
He added, “These plans represent part of a much greater scheme which will now incorporate the L.A. Café building which we have recently acquired. This will undergo a massive face-lift and redevelopment making the structure unrecognisable. Our vision of how we envisage this will look will be unveiled later in April”.

THat is one real ugly building!
Sure this must be April Fool joke. Why not incorporate a Multi storey car park as well to really set the ball rolling. ?
I think that the “Sky Pier” is a fantastic idea. You must realise that Skegness needs something to get the place going again. There isn’t enough leisure facilites in Skegness, and when the Parade Complex was demolished, i could imagine something like this to replace part of the seafront. To be honest i don’t think a 11-story building should be put there but something with many floors for different leisure facilities. This is the start of a new Skegness. I have been visiting Skegness for about 16 years, visiting almost every month. Me and my family have a brilliant time there and this new development will attract more people from all over. THIS IS WHAT SKEGNESS NEEDS. IT’S THE 21ST CENTURY
