SUNDAY, April 27, 2008, will be a Funday at East Lindsey District Council’s leisure facilities, with free family activities between 10am and 4pm.

Friends and families can enjoy a day out on the Council and try their hands at a variety of traditional sports such as tennis and netball, but also modern relaxation exercises like yoga and martial arts. Swimming will also be free, with fitness suite advisors giving introductory sessions to those who would like to experience what the fitness and exercise is all about.

Councillor Adam Grist, who is responsible for leisure, said the idea behind the open day is to get more people active: “There is a real need for people in East Lindsey to take part in more leisure activities and by opening our doors free of charge for this day, we will show people the quality and range of leisure facilities on their doorstep.  Families can bring a picnic with them and make the most of the activities on offer.  It will be a fun packed day out for the whole family to enjoy,” he said.

Those attending the Funday can also sign up for a free KeyCard that will save  them up to 35% off leisure activities whenever they go to a Council leisure facility.

By signing up for a KeyCard, and for those already registered and have a Keycard there will be an opportunity to win prizes including Nintendo Wii computers, Muddy Fox Mountain Bike, 250 free swims and a fitness suite membership.
