Someone’s Nicked the Church Organ Pipes!

MISSING ORGAN PIPES
(To the Editor of the “Skegness News”)
My dear Sir,—I wonder if your readers could help in the recovery of about a score of small pipes which have been removed from the innards of the organ at St. Clement’s Church? They are about a foot long and an inch in diameter, in shape and material rather like the old tin whistles, but without the finger holes.
They are quite useless, except in the instrument for which they were made, but they may have been attractive either to a joker or to children, with an unusual taste in playthings. In either case, they would soon be discarded, and by now be lying about in an odd corner, to which I have no access.
I do not wish to lock up the old parish church, to which so many mourners and visitors resort for comfort and quiet, but I am grieved that such a veteran as our little old organ, which has been doing real war work long after its prime, should have been so scurvily treated.

I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your obedient, servant G, W. CLARKSON.

The Rectory, Skegness.
