bola brothers skegnessThe V (Variety) Bar was taken over on Monday by Taj and TK Bola (left), owners of the Parade Complex in Skegness, which was destroyed by fire last year. The aquisition of the bar, which is in a promintent position in Skegness, is the first of many planned by the Bola Brothers.

The pair are considering a new name for the pub, planning to keep some features of the VBar, whilst introducing some new ideas.

The special ‘VBar Cabaret’, which was the brainchild of former owners, Carl Reece and Neil Morgan, has been axed, to be eventually replaced with ’something more of a sports theme.’

Here’s what WE said about the VBar when it first opened:

The V Bar was launched in Skegness by owners Carl Reece and Neil Morgan at Easter 2006 - and it’s rocketed to one of Skegness’ top nightspots!
It’s right in the centre of Skegness and boasts a superb design and decor.
The V Bar has it’s own cabaret and puts on live shows every night except Tuesdays.

The stage design is very unusual - it’s ON TOP of the bar, so whether you’re upstairs or downstairs you can see the act!

The V Bar show is absolutely fabulous and completely FREE!

*no charge at the door!
*a great act, spectacular costumes and lighting effects!
*the show’s on stage at twenty minute intervals
*the only pub in Skegness to put on a show almost every night!

It’s a MUST to see - especially on a Saturday night!

There’s a Carvery during the daytime. The Chef , Skegness born Graham Kerr, formerly worked on the QE1 and QE2 -and he was Personal Chef to President Jimmy Carter - it don’t get better than that!

The V Bar often has fancy dress themed nights like the recent ‘Beach Party’.
There’s a VIP area upstairs where you can reserve tables if you wish!
When we visited the V Bar the London Theatre Group were in the VIP lounge.
The group were the cast from ‘Josephs Technicoloured Dreamcoat’ currently showing at the Embassy Theatre Skegness.
