American Pastor for Skegness

American pastor, Jim Martin has taken over services at St Paul’s Baptist Church in Skegness and Skegness Video called into the church today to see the new minister in action.

Brother Jim, as he is known in Texas told us that he has been a preacher for over fifty years, and before he came to Skegness two weeks ago, he was preaching the Word of God in a store front in Lake Jackson, Texas. He is a retired Chemical Engineer.

His missionary work has taken him all over the world, including South Africa, Mosambique, Malawi, Zambia and Romania. “What made you come to Skegness?”, we asked. “God”, Brother Jim replied.

Mr Martin delivered the Sunday Service to the quite large congregation, using modern technology to illustrate his points. He told us that all his sermons are recorded onto audio and should anyone miss the service, they can obtain a copy and listen to it later.

“My aim,” Mr Martin told us, “is to teach the ‘sheep‘ how to preach, so that when I’m gone, they will continue to spread the Word of God.”

Pastor Jim, as the Skegness folk are addressing him, says he is loving every minute of his stay in Skegnes, but due to visa restrictions, he and his wife, Brenda, are only expecting to stay in Skegness for six months.

“Skegness people are so friendly!”, he said.
