MOST PHOTOGRAPHED MAN IN BRITAIN
FAMOUS CHEF DIES
For many years supervisory chef at the Butlin Holiday Camps at Skegness, Clacton and Filey, Mr. Joe Velich died at his home in Hampton, London last week.
Joe Velich was known to literally hundreds of thousands of campers, as well as to large numbers of local people.
He was a veritable giant of a man, scaling over 23 stones, and a most picturesque figure in his white chef’s uniform.
He had the distinction of being probably the most photographed man in Britain, if not indeed in the whole world, for during the holiday camp seasons he was photographed regularly up to a thousand times a week by campers.
