The late Mr G. J Crofts Dedication of Two Stained Glass Windows

On Sunday last the Rev. William Disney, conducted a dedication service in connection with the two stained glass windows which have been placed in St Matthew’s Church, to the memory of the late Mr. G. J. Crofts.

Some years ago a window representing “Faith” was placed in the church to the memory of his wife, and the two others represent ‘Hope” and “Charity”.
The window “Hope” was given by the family and the other, “Charity,” has been subscribed for by his many friends.
The unveiling of the window given by the family was performed by Mr. William Plaskit Moody, who said, “I unveil this window, given to the Glory of God and in remembrance of a dear and loving father by his children.”
The third window, “Charity,”‘ was unveiled, by Mr. George F. Ball with the following words, “I unveil this window subscribed for by the friends of George James Crofts, and placed here to the Glory of the Almighty and in pious memory of a good man, a sound Christian, and a faithful and generous friend to countless s people in this town and elsewhere.
