i thought that the muskerteers were amazing how they did there dances and there music it was so cool i wish i could join that band
I can remember when it was the Manhatern bar and the Parade hotel and they used to say it was the only hotel on Grand Parade. What a shame for this to happen to it after all of the money that has been spent on it in the last few months. At least no one got hurt at the end of the day. I wonder what they will build in its place.
so deverstating i was there but not there but nobody was hurt ,a few dj have lost allthere equipment which is heart breaking but i have offered help the ex service men was damage by water should be up and running in a few month but prayers go out to tk and family how rotten after all they have done for our town
I was also reminiscing earlier about the Manhattan Bar and the Jolly Fisherman/Callow pub. I went to have a nosey this afternoon and it made me sad to see the Parade in such a sorry state, after all it was one of the first to be built on the seafront all those years ago. It’s another piece of our local history disappearing. It is good though that the places were evacuated so quickly, hats off to the quick thinking staff and also to the emergency services. And fingers crossed for a quick recovery for Skegness.
just to add to my previous comment, best wishes to TK Bola and his family, they must be devastated, particularly if what is being said on the news is accurate. My husband and myself think he has made an impact on the town which should be congratulated.
Our heart goes out to TK Bola and his family he has done such wonders for this town the new look hotel is amazing and just what was needed. im sure he must be feeling absolutely devastated at what has happend to his night club i just cant believe it and skegness has lost another part of its history our thoughts are with you TK the people of skegness are all behind you may you survive the devastation and bring us a another new future Garry and Gina Wilson-De-Roye
Email received from Mr Herbert N Crawshaw, grandson of Joseph Crawshaw who was a member of the first Local Board (1884) in Skegness, and son of Joseph Crawshaw, four times Mayor of Skegness:
We were very sorry indeed to hear, and later see on BBC TV, the terrible fire that has occurred on North Parade, we wish the Town well, with typical Lincolnshire grit and determination we trust it will quickly overcome this disaster; the Fire Service and Police are to be congratulated on an excellent job in avoiding fatalities.
Regards Bert Crawshaw
Email received from Patrick Draper of our neighbouring seaside resort of Cleethorpes:
So sorry to hear and see the news today about the fire. It is a shame that it has happened at this time of year, not that there is a good time. Your fire fighters deserve a lot of credit for their praiseworthy efforts. I shall still keep visiting Skegness and am sure it will be even better when rebuilt. We in Cleethorpes have lost one of our great facilities this year too, the winter gardens, but this was due to developers and the council.
Best wishes to all
Patrick and Isobel Draper

It’s about time someone added something good to our town. Yet they’ve had it ripped away so soon, lets hope they find it in them to re-build and stay with our town……. We are so, so sorry - Tk & Bola Family

A sad sight to see,my late father and me always enjoyed a jar at the “Legion” on the parade there, and in later years my fiancee and I always remarked on how different a place skeggy must have been when these first original buildings went up.A sad loss to local heritage,to local people, and to the reminiscent visitor too.
