Skegness Carnival Parade Photos
The Skegness Carnival Parade kicked off Carnival Week in Skegness today.
Thousands of people line the streets of Skegness to see the spectacular show and were not disappointed as float after float passed them in a riot of colour, music, marching bands, majorettes. This year’s theme was ‘Fictitious Characters’.
Hildreds Shopping Centre won the Best in Class and Best in Show. The Mayor of Skegness, Coun Ken Milner, who helped judge the entries, told us “The Hildreds staff have decided to donate their prize money to the Mayor’s Charity, which is the Skegness Lifeboats”.
All the floats and entries are to be commended for their enormous efforts in providing a spectacular display which Skegness can be proud of.

I go every year just to watch the parade and it was brilliant to see so many bands this time. It was well worth the expense of travelling specially when the are so entertaining along the route. I enjoyed watching the dancing of the leading band Chesterfield Muskateers, they seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Maybe the other bands should be allowed to dance and entertain. The crowd all around me kept commenting on the entertaining performance they gave. Credit to the Organisors and the Muskateers. please let the comittee know how i an the people aroung the streets enjoyed them.The man next to me comes up every year from london to watch the parade and thought not only was it the best parade in years but the first band was also the best band on the day.

i enjoyed the carnival this year i agree it was the best in years, my favorite was the coral beach float with their pirate theme and character’s, but weldone to all that entertained us

Brilliant Parade, lots of colour, lots of music. Credit to the organisers. The slow dragons at the front spoiled the continuity of the parade. Maybe if more bands danced, or played to the crowds like the first band, then everyone would have been in a proper carnival mood. The muskateers are always are very smart and entertaining for the crowds. We love watching them every year….. Lets have more FLOATS, more CARS and more BANDS…

nice one this year enjoyed the floats and what i come for every year is to hear the bands,great line up but still like the entertaining band from Chesterfield best every time something different.

fantastic show again, enjoyed watching the bands and the fancy dress…. The Dragons were a bit slow…. The bands at the front were brilliant and entertaining both the white sailors ones and the blue cavaliers. The parade seemed to last for ages….. See You All Next Year……..

the parade was amazing i loved the bands and the best was the chesterfield muskerteers i loved the dragons they was so cool!!!

i loved the people dressed up the jolly fisherman the dragons looked great and there was nice music played from the bands.The dancers and entertaners was great. loved the bands that were dressed up they was perfect i liked the muskerteers aswell and there was a random man on stilts he was a bit loud though but funny.

The parade this year was fantastic, i go with family every year, this year was amazing, and very enjoyable. The colour. the sound just brill. well done to everybody especially the bands there was loads of them and this made it very entertaining. especially the first band, the chesterfield musketeers showband. outstanding, how do they manage to stand, play, dance, and march, and stay in step. they are so young mostly kids and very talented i would love to seek them out just to watch them over and over again.

I was there with my sister and family. As she pointed out the way the band at the front got you into a right carnival mood. The musketeers got you wanting to join in right from the beginning. the tuned top cat and looney tunes was very good they all looked good but hey i want to be like that one day. it was good them other bands and the floats i really had a good day thanx. Looking forward to next year hope my family come.

well done to the musketeers. i felt sorry for them they must av bin tired after the parade because of those slow dragons infront but the was great fun to watch. wish to see them there next year

Well after reading the other comments it sums up the great entertainment from the musketeers again. i have seen them once or twice at other eventsbut hey they shone great. they got all in the carnival mood from the very beginning. aint they great. the whole parade was so colourful. great video. Sorry about the fire but the 2007 parade will help remember that space forever. Good luck in the years to come.xxxx
