Skegness Lifeboat Saves Family

A man and his two sons were rescued by Skegness lifeboat yesterday afternoon. The three were in their 17 feet speedboat off the Lincolnshire coast when the engine failed, sending the boat drifting in choppy sea conditions.

Yarmouth Coastguard received the speedboat’s mayday message and immediately alerted the Skegness lifeboat. The family was rescued off the coast at Ingoldmells and the speedboat towed in by another lifeboat.

The photo below shows both the inshore and offshore lifeboats as they returned to the Skegness station from the rescue yesterday.
