BEACH volleyball stars from across the globe will take part in a special tournament in Skegness later this month as part of East Lindsey District Council’s annual Beach Sports festival.
Taking place on the resort’s north beach, the festival kicks off on Saturday, July 21, with an action packed family beach tag rugby tournament between 12noon and 5pm. The event has been organised in conjunction with the Rugby Football Union.
International and amateur volleyball players from as far a field as Australia will descend on Skegness for a special tournament on Sunday, July 22 for the second day of the Beach Festival. The volleyball tournament has been organised by the English Volleyball Association as part of a national tour. Those competing are some of the very best volleyball players in the world.
East Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and the Environment, Councillor Adam Grist, said that an exciting weekend of sports is ahead: “Clearly East Lindsey is on the map for major national competitions and this is something which can only be good for the District,” he said.
