Skegness

KELLY Crabtree, Knicker Stitcher of Coronation Street and singing Star of Soapstar Superstar, will be in Mablethorpe next month to switch-on the resort’s famous illuminations.

The event will take place on Sunday, July 22, with the evening’s entertainment kicking off at 7.30pm on the Pullover.
Kelly (who’s real name is Tupele Dorgu) will also be asked to flick the switch to light up the Star of the East artwork at the same ceremony, which has been installed as part of a regeneration programme to enhance the town.

Kelly first appeared in Coronation Street in 2004, working in the Underworld Knicker Factory. But it wasn’t until she jilted her on screen fiancée that she came to the attention of Coronation Street viewers. Brash and bolshy, Kelly is the sort of girl who goes for what she wants and rarely thinks of the consequences of her actions.

The switch-on will take place on the High Street Pullover at 9:45pm.
