Cheque for Mayor’s Charity GFS
Ex- Skegness Mayor, Coun Phil Kemp presented a £4200 cheque to his chosen charity, the Girls Friendly Society in Skegness today.
The money, which was raised during Coun Kemp’s term of office, was put towards various training projects like creative writing skills and publishing a poetry book. The society is curently planning to create a recipe book.
Mrs Joy Epton, patron of the GFS, told us that the presentation was especially good as the society was celebrating its tenth year this year.
Coun Kemp said “The work that the GFS does benefits the community as a whole and is therefore good for Skegness”.
