AN EXCITING blueprint for the future development of East Lindsey has been approved by Councillors.
East Lindsey District Council’s new forward thinking Corporate Strategy sets out the commitment the Council has made to residents, placing a focus on individuals and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the District.

The document, which is the Council’s vision for the next five years, includes a new emphasis on customer access and improving ways that the Authority interacts with its residents.

This aspirational and exciting document has been put together following extensive consultation with residents and community groups.

Council Leader, Councillor Doreen Stephenson, said the Strategy aims to make a real and positive difference to the lives the residents of East Lindsey: “We will put residents at the heart of all we do and continue to improve our services to the District and enhance the services we provide for everyone’s benefit,” she said.

Over the next five years, the Council will:

·       Improve economic prosperity
·       Nurture our distinctive and vibrant communities
·       Reduce inequality to improve quality of life

By 2012 the Council will firmly establish a District that has grown and improved to provide the best possible opportunities for all, including:

·       More and better jobs in the District
·       Better skill levels
·       Broader range of tourists visiting the area
·       Improved health, especially amongst the most disadvantaged
·       More responsive Council services
·       Higher rated performance and resident satisfaction
