East Lindsey District Council LeisureWatch Scheme
Written by Angela Gooch on May 14th, 2007 in Skegness Latest News.
East Lindsey is the first district council to launch a scheme which has trained all of the Council’s leisure centre staff, together with local Police Community Support Officers and Police Officers, in techniques to help them recognise behaviour in individuals that may present a risk to children.
The scheme will be focused on six key leisure venues, Skegness, Horncastle, Woodhall Spa, Mablethorpe and Louth.
Information obtained through LeisureWatch may result in the early intervention which may prevent offences taking place against children, and may assist in the detection of paedophiles.
The LeisureWatch scheme supports East Lindsey District Council’s commitment to Child Protection and compliments the policies already in place within the leisure services.
